Jennifer Foster (Host)
Jennifer Foster is the weekday midday announcer at WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio and is the producer of several of WDAV's weekly shows, including Artist Spotlight, Saturday Night of Song, and Choral Showcase. She creates audio sculpture, and her most recent work, The Interview: When Words Fail, was premiered at the Baltimore Contemporary Museum in January, 2009 for the exhibit, “More Than Words: Innovative Uses of the Human Voice.”
Benjamin K. Roe (Executive Producer)
Benjamin K. Roe is General Manager of WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio, the listener-supported public radio service of Davidson College, celebrating its 31st year on the air. Roe comes to WDAV with more than 25 years of leadership in radio and public media. He is a 20-year veteran of National Public Radio, serving most recently as its Director of Music and Music Initiatives. He created and produced live broadcasts, studio recordings, special programs, and ongoing series for the network, including Creators at Carnegie, SymphonyCast, A King Celebration and Toast of the Nation.
Roe has received numerous honors for his work, including a Chairman’s Medal for Distinguished Service from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Grammy Award for Best Choral Recording, as well as Peabody, Gabriel, and ASCAP-Deems Taylor awards for his work as the senior producer of Performance Today. In 2000, he was a key member of the NPR Cultural Programming staff that was the first broadcast organization ever to receive a National Medal of the Arts.
Michael Schweppe (Technical Director)
Michael Schweppe owns Michael Schweppe Recording, specializing in high quality live performance audio recordings and post-production of opera, symphonic, chamber, jazz, and choral music. He has recorded over fifty operas for National Public Radio's World of Opera, featuring such artists as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Samuel Ramey, Mirella Freni, Denyce Graves and Placido Domingo. In 1997, Schweppe was awarded an Alfred J. Dupont-Columbia University award for engineering.
Jeffrey Freymann-Weyr (Producer)
Jeffrey Freymann-Weyr is a multi-media producer for WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio, and previously served for 13 years as a producer/editor at National Public Radio. He is a film-scoring graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan School of Music. He has composed music for dance, film, and advertising.
